Snowflake[23] is a security data lake, not a SIEM. Cybersecurity Workload is a configuration, not a separate SKU. Standard credits list at $2.00/credit (AWS US-East) with storage at $23/TB-month compressed.
Detection layer
Panther, Hunters, and Anvilogic sit on top. The decision is two-vendor: a lake (Snowflake) plus a detection layer. For shops who already own Snowflake the marginal SIEM cost is the detection layer alone.
Where lake-only loses
Pre-built detection content, case management, and SOAR are missing without a detection layer. Snowflake-only is rarely the right answer for a SOC without engineering capacity.
What shifted
